John Bonham links The bombastic battering of most drummers since 1969 is thanks in large part to the style of Led Zeppelin's John Bonham. Working perfectly within the structure of Jimmy Page's riff-heavy anthems, Bonham's no-nonsense timekeeping was at once both involved and simple, punishing and tasteful, powerful and subtle. The Englishman farmer passed away much too soon in 1980, but much to his credit, Bonzo remains today one of the most sampled drummers in hip-hop and rap.
