Additional Information
Harold Rhodes changed the sound of music with his invention: the Rhodes electric piano. Featured on thousands of recordings, the electric piano allowed bands to travel with a piano player and perform live without the expense or hassle of an acoustic piano. Popularized in the mid '60s and early '70s, the unique tone has seen a resurgence due to the desire for retro sounds and effects on today's recordings. Many modern synths and computer programs offer simulated models of the classic Rhodes tone.
