Elvis Presley links The truck driver from Tupelo, Mississippi became a worldwide phenomenon in the 1950s with a hip-shaking sound melded from black R&B and white country and western. Presley's Sun Records recordings changed the music scene forever, leaving teenage girls breathless, DJs overwhelmed with requests, and Sam Phillips a genius producer. His influence was everywhere - from haircuts and dancing, even to the Beatles. With a hugely successful music and film career, his death in 1977 left the world without its King.
