Jackie Wilson was one of the first R&B vocalists to enjoy success in the early rock and roll era. His energetic performances garnered him the nickname "Mr. Excitement," and he was known for his powerful, wide-ranging vocals. Wilson's hits included "To Be Loved," "That's Why," "I'll Be Satisfied," "Lonely Teardrops," and "Higher and Higher." Jackie Wilson passed away in 1984 at the age of forty-nine.
