Guitarist Mick Taylor came to prominence in John Mayall's Blues Breakers, replacing Peter Green, who replaced Eric Clapton, continuing a tradition of terrific British blues players from the 1960s. Stardom called when he became a member of the Rolling Stones. He stayed with the band for half a decade, then left to pursue a solo career that has allowed his playing to step out from the shadows of his former bands. Taylor is most often considered among the pantheon of slide guitarists.
