Comprised of bassist/singer John Doe, singer Exene Cervenka, guitarist Billy Zoom and drummer D.J. Bonebrake, X helped put Los Angeles on the punk rock map, combining punk with rockabilly, country, folk and heavy metal influences. The group's raw power, unique harmonies, humor and intelligent lyrics made them the most critically lauded American band of the early 80's.
